We are the most quality compliant in southern Tanzania with Full Registration and Accreditation from the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).

Our institution started as a Cum Laude College located in Njombe back in 2013 with Provisional Registration. It took us three years and relocation to a better campus in Songea to acquire Full Registration status and enrolling our first batch of students in November 2016. STIMAT as it is popularly known inherited facilities of the now defunct St. Joseph University College of Agricultural Science and Technology (SJCAST) and St. Joseph College of Information Technology (SJCIT).

Located in the heart of Songea Municipal Council in Ruvuma region, the St. Thomas Institute of Management and Technology, is nationally recognized college of choice when it comes to programmes it offers. Since 2018, the College has been authorized to offer various programs and has been among the top colleges for quality education, student life and affordability. Its beautiful campus in bread-basket region of Ruvuma has attracted students from various corner of the country looking for affordable life and quality education.

Over 1,500 students have passed in our College having enjoyed  a small-college feel blended with the advantages and diversity of a mid-sized, urban College.And the Municipal of Songea is an internationally renowned for its history, weather, landscape, culture and environment that served well early Christian missionaries who made their headquarter in nearby Peramiho. The College serves as a living and learning laboratory for experiences in business, science, technology and social sciences.
